Prof. Dr. med. Stephan Ulmer was appointed to the CureScience™ Institute Advisory Board shortly before World Cancer Day, which takes place every year on February 4 as a global initiative of the UICC towards raising public awareness of prevention, early recognition, and treatment of cancer.

Headquartered in San Diego, California, the CureScience™ Institute is a non-profit organisation that pursues the ambitious goal of improving quality of life amongst patients with individual treatment approaches based on the latest scientific findings. The Institute provides support for research groups studying early recognition and diagnostics as well as treatment approaches in its stated role as a cross-disciplinary platform for researchers, clinicians, and industry. The organisation has also taken on issues such as autoimmune disease and COVID 19 alongside its initial focus on transnational research in oncology in general, neurological cancer in particular, and other neurological disorders. Prof. Dr. med. Stephan Ulmer has amassed years of experience in intraoperative imaging and advanced imaging techniques focused mainly on neurological cancer; he will be contributing this wealth of experience to his honorary appointment as the head of central reading – centralised analysis of imaging endpoints from other institutions – at the CureScience™ Institute.
